I've been coming here for the Greek salad with chicken forever and it still does not disappoint. Best grilled chicken and Greek dressing! Large portions and good value!!!

Sunday night. Arrived at 6:46pm. Hostess seated us right away. Not very busy. Waited 30 minutes, asked for waitress and still didn't get waited on. Two Customers, came in after us, sat down next to us and were waited on. The staff also knew them so maybe that's why they got waited on but we didn't. Someone did bring me an iced tea and said, "Olivia" would be right with us but we waited another 10 minutes, asked again for "Olivia", waited another 5 minutes and then left. Very disappointed tonight. I love the George's Salad with their Grilled Chicken. It's the best but we were ignored. Plus, getting here is a hassle because of the road construction. Probably should have left after 10 min. Won't waste our time again.

This is my "go to" place for Greek food. My favorite dish is the Greek salad with Chicken - their dressing and marinated chicken are the absolute best!!! The portions are large, service is wonderful and the owner (George) is always there to make sure everything is running smoothly.

Awesome food, awesome salads and dishes. I used to live in Michigan and eat at the place all the time, now I moved to California and cannot find a place like it. Fresh food with a great price.

I'm always a fan of George's. Literally just because their George's chopped salad with chicken is the best salad I've ever had in my entire life. Combined with their dressing... Oh my goodness. I could eat it breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their bread is always good, lemon rice soup and veggie soup are pretty inconsistent though. The lemon rice soup is sometimes really thick, sometimes really watery. The veggie soup is sometimes sweet, sometimes salty... HOWEVER, with that said... they always taste good. I've had a lot of food items from George's... Their grilled chicken with lemon is good, mahi mahi not so good. Their coney dogs are sad. They are runny and the hot dog is cheap meat. French fries are always good though... The service is hit and miss. Depends when I go in. If I go in for lunch, service is usually slow... If I go in for dinner after work, I get there about 8:15... so they're dead, and the service is good... so, depending on how busy they are, you can get served well or crappy. Normally, I would give this business a 3 star rating based on service and food taste... but because they are the location of my favorite salad and grilled chicken, they get an extra star!

Delicious food, great variety large menu and you get good value for your dollar. Around $12/pp. The floor was dirty however which ruins the atmosphere. I would come back here for lunch or dinner and bring a large group. The portions are large and you get warm bread when you arrive.

Pros: +Good Portions +Great Food Cons: -Ambiance The food here is great and the portion sizes are not bad. They have different specials everyday and do a brunch buffet as well as a pasta bar on certain days. I think the main thing that needs work is the ambiance, but for the pricing I can really complain. I recommend the Greek salad with chicken and the gyro. There is also steak that comes on a hot stone that cooks in front of you, it's excellent. They also bring out hot bread and butter which gets you full before the food even hits the table.

I've eaten here before and like the food well enough to have repeat visits. I ordered the Patty Melt with no mushrooms, wife orders a salad. Minutes later the salad comes out, but there was a problem with the Patty Melt so it would be a few more minutes. No problem it happens. A few more minutes and the Patty Melt arrives and sure enough, it has mushrooms. I wait for the waiter to return to check on us but he does not. I pick apart the sandwich and eat what I can, but it has dampened the experience. Finally our waiter returns as we are finishing, I tell him of the mistake and that he did not return during our meal to correct it. He is apologetic but offers no solution. Maybe I could have been more aggressive and chased down the missing waiter, or walked up to the hostess stand and ask for a manager, but I did not. Normally if I receive bad food in a restaurant, I will still tip the waiter because they do not cook the food. However, I feel that both the chef and the waiter let us down, so I did not leave a tip.

Love this place! I'm picky about my lemon rice soup and theirs is so yummy! When I want to indulge in a guilty pleasure I love to get the saganaki. Very good! My favorite thing by far is George's salad. I always suggest it to my friends when it's their first time there. It's always a hit. I try to go there at least a couple times a month. Definitely recommend!

The staff was friendly and the ambience was great. A lot of older folks and families here. The food was served in huge portions however my gyro platter was very salty.

Nothing spectacular about the food here, but almost assuredly you'll get your money's worth. Real gyros, and saganaki are the highlights for me, but most dinner entrees are rather serviceable. Very popular among the senior circuit, so usually busy until about 7:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

If you are looking for a nice evening out, don't bother with this place. Was treated tonight to three young loudmouths holding court for two female servers, with much crotch grabbing and f bombing. No management on premises. Then there is the ambient din. Shame because the food isn't bad...just don't expect to relax.

This place isn't perfect, but food and service both get an 8/10 from me. I've eaten here a lot. They are usually really good with carry out also, The one time they messed up my carry out order, I called them to let them know, and they gave me a credit towards another meal. They know how to make a customer happy!

George's is our home away from home. We have been going there for years, even their old location which was about a tad south on the other side of the Orchard Lake. The food is consistently good and in general it does not matter what you order. In particular I like the house salad with grilled chicken and their Greek dressing. Order the chicken well done. It is phenomenal and I wish I could figure out the recipe. You can order the chicken on any of their salads and I highly recommend it. Their bread basket is also a cut above the average place. I always get it with olive oil. I have had many items on the menu and have found them all good. The Chicken Kapama is very good, the gyros are large and filling, we also like the chicken lemonato, etc. My favorite breakfast item is the gyro omelette and I order mine with feta cheese. You can get it with toast but I get the bread basket. In addition, I really like their coffee. The restaurant is clean and the staff is always friendly. The owners George and Theresa do a great job running the restaurant and always seem to be there. They are nice people and treat all of their customers well and the staff always seem to be happy.

I've been eating here since I was young (my mom ate here when it was at Tally Hall), and it has THE BEST greek salad in town. Do NOT confuse them with the other Honey Trees in the area - they are NOT related and are not owned by George and Theresa, the nicest, most giving people I know. The food is always fresh and amazing (priced well), and be sure to order the saganaki. YUM!

My wife and I decided to try George's on a Saturday night to try the $13.99 prime rib special. We were expecting a scaled down version of the usual prime rib dinner, but no. What we got were beautiful thick, juicy, flavorful, large cuts of beef, along with potatoes, asparagus, sweet bell peppers, and choice of salad or soup. The place was packed, but we were able to get a table within 5 minutes, and it was around 6:30 pm. Our server was friendly and fast. Now I would write more about how great their desserts were, but we were so stuffed that we didn't order any. Maybe next time... and there definitely will be a next time.

Note: I am giving honey tree 5 stars because I think they have the best Greek salad around! Now that we have that out of the way, I will tell you about this salad. It may not be anything special, but I think it is. When I lived in Bloomfield Hills, this would be a weekly carry-out destination for me (and they have a special carry-out only door on the side which I love!). When in doubt, just get honey tree. I always order the Greek salad with chicken, but you have to ask for the chicken well done. I know, I know you should never order things well done...but I make 2 exceptions, bacon and the honey tree chicken. It is the only way you get the crispy crust on the outside, which I think is essential (this does not dry out the chicken FYI). Anyway, besides the chicken and amazing dressing it is any other Greek salad but those two components make the salad. All I can say, is try it for yourself and see. I also do get their saganaki (opa!) cheese and tzatziki, which are both delicious. They deserve 5 stars as well. Yes, this place is not much on ambiance...but whatever, it is like a coney island kind of place. Lots of old people, but don't worry about that. Just order the Greek salad with well done chicken and you will be happy.

I want to give this place half a star but t least the wait staff is friendly. Worst restaurant I've ever been to. Food is terrible.

This place has the BEST GYRO I have ever had. Don't confuse this place with the other mediocre Honey Trees around town, this one is 1000 notches above the others. I'm not sure but I think this is the same owners as the place that used to be at Tally Hall when I was a kid. It was fantastic then and it still is now. Get the supreme Gyro From their web site: Gyros Supreme 6.59 Served with feta cheese, gyro sauce, lettuce, onions & tomato OMG it's that good! and the Greek salad is the best. btw 5 stars is for the Gyro and salad, I have no idea how anything else tastes ; )

Its the BEST hands down when I go back home I eat here at least once a day!!! I know it sounds crazy but there is no Gyro places with the same quality in california as Georges honey tree and the spinach pie is so flaky and fresh!!!

Nice place, very family oriented. Good sevice, good clean food. Almost like a New York diner in Detroit. Pastichio was just right, avgolemono soup was good and the spanakopita was like home made. Overall, a good meal at a decent price. If you're in the area, give it a try.

You can't really go wrong at this place. They have your standard "good diner" variety. By good diner, I mean one BIG step up from your standard diner fare. Burgers, sandwiches, salads, gyros, plus steak and a lot of other options you would probably be surprised to see. The greek selections are pretty solid. No bs pan fried gyro planks, real shaved meat and good pitas. Great spinach pie. Definitely no skimping on the feta in the greek salad. A good variety of different specials all week long, although it's not incredibly necessary, seeing as the prices are totally reasonable. They have a more modern decor, which is surprising for a place that seems like they get a lot of the "early bird" business. Nice and clean. Good service. I don't know what else to say. Check it out when your nearby the 14 Mile Rd./Northwestern Hwy./Orchard Lake Rd. Area. It's a good alternative to some of the more expensive options in the area.
